Irshalgad trekking is nothing but the trekking towards
pinnacle and not towards fort. Because it is not a fort it is actually a
pinnacle. Irshalgad total height is around 3700 feet from base and the difficulty
level is medium up to pinnacle base, after that the difficulty level increase.

view from pinnacle base also.
Irshalgad history
Irshalgad is situated in between Matheran and Panvel in Maharshtra state. There is not
much written in history about Irshalgad. This fort may have come under the rule
of Marathas when Chatrapat Shivaji Maharaj had conquered some parts of Kalyan and
Bhiwandi during his tenure. People call
it as a sister fort of Prabalgad. May be Irshalgad is use to keep an eye on the
Prabalgad and Manikgad.
How to reach Irshalgad
As we have mentioned Irshalgad is a pinnacle and easy to
reach up to base of pinnacle. It is very easy to reach base village named
Nanivali. Any public transport can take you there from Karjat railway
station. You can start ascent from this village, very easy to start mostly
taper road towards Irshalwadi or Irshal village. The people of the village call
it as Isal village. After taking blessing from isaldevi you can proceed. You will
witness some water pond at the top also. After getting pass of some rocky patch
and ladder you can see the needle hole at the top. After spending some time you can start
descend.
